Virginia Alliance of Paralegal Associations
The Virginia Alliance of Paralegal Associations ("VAPA")
was formed in 1989 and is comprised of legal assistant associations across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Its purpose
is to maintain a statewide communications network; to advance, foster and promote the profession; to monitor developments
in the profession; and to provide a statewide voice for paralegals. The Educational Standards and Guidelines for Legal Assistants,
developed by VAPA, were recommended by the Virginia State Bar Standing Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law by Resolution,
adopted on March 8, 1995.
